Sonsi Full Figured Fashion Week: Day 3 [Indie Designers Showcase]

Pictured with Cornelius of Pure Chic Visions
Friday night was the Indie Designers Showcase for Sonsi Full Figured Fashion Week - the one event I was looking forward to the most. I've been waiting for months and was so excited to see Ashley Nell Tipton's Spring 2013 collection.
For the event, I wanted to keep it comfortable (as always!) so I opted for this knee-length dress with embellished sleeve and neckline. I don't usually like strong shoulders, but the sequins were too irresistible. I cinched my waist with a silver fish scale belt and kept it demure with an ankle strap D'Orsay pump.
Dress: Vintage
Belt: Thrifted
Shoes: Thrifted, White House | Black Market, $6
Earrings: Random NYC store, $3

17 Sundays - a great mix of prints in earth tones.
Ashley Nell Tipton - a very playful collection full of collars, polka dots, cutouts and pastels.

Chinoo Designs - pleating and draping flatter silhouettes in monochromatic hues.

Curvato - the brainchild of songstress Nicci Gilbert-Daniels, Curvato's long flowing gowns were fun with small pops and surprises.

Jibri - Designer of the Year award recipient and designer for Jibri, Jasmine Elder, is best known for her full circle skirts and colorful parachute pants. This collection was an interesting mix of that and simple, elegant dresses.

Jill Alexander Designs - flowing materials punched up this collection's simple silhouettes.

Lavender's Jungle - these two pieces were the gems of the collection, playing with chiffon and tulle.

Masaari - an African inspired collection, Masaari is not afraid of length and exposure. Sheer and off the shoulder tops were paired with short skirts and leggings.

Queen Grace - Lace and sheers were very present in this collection, along with a vintage silhouette that I long for.

Rachel Pally - long, flowing gowns meet fun prints in Rachel Pally's collection.

Savannah Red - Designer Anslee Connell is not afraid to show she's a country sweetheart with her collection, replete with fringe and lace.

SK Wilbur - old school meets new school with vintage silhouettes in bright colors, embellished with modern hardware and furs.

Sorella Swim - Models stepped out in confidence in structured bathing suits. The collection came full circle with a flowing skirt and wide brimmed hats.

Youtheary Khmer - delicate silhouettes in bright colors were featured demure bows, silks, and lace.
