LOOKBOOK: Maison Martin Margiela x H&M
If I had things my way, I'd be wearing slouchy, androgynous clothing for the rest of my life. These are the things that Maison Martin Margiela is made of - beautifully crafted, oversized garments that literally any person (or body form) can wear. Dropping off in H&M on November 15, this is a capsule collaboration at pure perfection. Margiela nails the true essence of H&M, the H&M I fell in love with back in year 2000. Its easy, effortless, and chic demeanor melds avant-garde and commercial fashion in a way that I've yet to see. I'm impressed and extremely excited for this collection.
As you peek through the lookbook, please notice the accessories. Gloves are doubling as purses, clutches look like oversized foil pop tart wrappers, statement necklaces make HUGE statements, gloves are handbag handles...there's all kinds of fun being had.
Styling tip: When I showed this collection to a friend earlier, she quickly wrote it off because it was all slouchy and shapeless. Literally ANY one can wear this silhouette (or lack thereof). Exaggerated bodies (ie: hourglass) tends to fill this silhouette out, while boxier shapes can belt looks to add curve. Shorter ladies can belt higher to elongate torso, so on and so forth. Don't be afraid to try new things.
