Wedding Crashers: Brooklyn Wedding Fair

Can I be completely honest with you? Planning a wedding has been a total nightmare. Finding a venue is SO stressful, among the other load of things to worry about. Dresses, bridesmaids, food, cake, etc. - it's blown my mind. That's why I was so relieved to find the Wedding Crashers Brooklyn Wedding Fair last week. 

I am a hard gal to please - I like brick walls, moss, steel, those kinds of things (I'm a NYer!) and my fiance loves nature (he's from Jamaica!). I'm hoping I'll be able to find a good mix of things we both like at the Wedding Crashers fair. It definitely seems like the venue for an offbeat bride (I guess I'm calling myself that?) like me to get some of the kitschy, personalized things I want. More info on the fair:

Wedding Crashers, the Brooklyn wedding fair for couples planning one-of-a-kind nuptials in NYC and beyond, is coming to Williamsburg’s Wythe Hotel on Thursday, October 2, 2014 with 40 incredible wedding vendors. Whether your vision includes a string quartet that can cover David Bowie, lobster rolls, custom suits, or the coolest photobooth, we tightly curate Wedding Crashers to help you find the most original vendors in New York.Creative designers, photographers, planners, registries, and caterers will fill the Williamsburg hotel and wedding venue from 6 to 9pm, with goody-filled totes for the first 100 guests. Starting at 6:30pm, you’ll also be able to glean great advice from our vendors and experts in the Wythe Hotel’s screening room. Mark O’Connell will be offering tips from his forthcoming book, Modern Brides & Modern Grooms: A Guide to Planning Straight, Gay, and Other Nontraditional, 21st Century Weddings. Vané Broussard of Brooklyn Bride will moderate panel discussions that will cover everything from how to look great in your wedding photos to the basics of wedding planning, and Rebecca Schoneveld Bridal Design will showcase her hand-sewn gowns in a fashion show afterward. Throughout the night, you’ll also hear DJs upstairs and live wedding bands in the private dining room and the speakeasy bar downstairs, where each guest will get a complimentary glass of Local 1 from Brooklyn Brewery. Ticket buyers will also be automatically entered to win a complimentary night’s stay at the Wythe Hotel—think of it as your pre-Honeymoon!
