How to Style a Lace Slip Dress

LOOK ONE - A NIGHT OUT styled with this yellow moto jacket

The lace slip dress is one of those pieces most women look and at don't think they can wear - especially outside. I get a particular joy out of styling things people "say" you can't wear, so when I stopped by the Eloquii headquarters last week and saw this piece I accepted the challenge of how to style this lace slip dress.

Nothing is more simple than pairing a black slinky lace slip dress with a bright color. I draped a moto jacket over my shoulders and wore a strappy heel and a metallic clutch. Comfortable, easy, simple.

LOOK TWO - CASUAL VIBE styled with this t-shirt and this jean jacket

The most common way I've seen a lace slip dress styled out is with a t-shirt. I chose this tee with a knotted sleeve for visual interest and paired with a denim jacket with the same knot-sleeve detail. Paired with a sneaker this is casual yet feels intentional and slightly more elevated than a jeans-and-a-tee combo.

LOOK THREE - POLISHED LOOK with this collared top and this trench coat

I would never, ever think I could wear a slip dress to work but adding some structured layers really makes this dress palatable for the daytime. This collared ruffle blouse (which is actually a bodysuit!) takes this to biz profesh in an instant. A perfect trench coat topper combats the winds of Spring and all three layers create a look that is perfect from desk-to-dinner.

I walked through how to style a lace slip dress on Eloquii's Facebook page, you can check it out here or below:
