Maxi Dresses in Summer? Duh.

A maxi dress in the summertime is not a groundbreaking idea, but this beautifully abstract maxi dress from Gwynnie Bee seemed revolutionary to me. Maybe it's because I'm wearing a dress with sleeves in the middle of July. Maybe it's the retro print giving me a thrift store vibe. Either way, this Melissa McCarthy dress nailed it. The material is über soft, the dress is so long it pools at my feet (which I love!), and the belt wraps around me about four times which is pretty much unheard of for a plus size wrap dress.

I wore this dress out for a night out with friends for an intimate dinner and a stroll through Lower Manhattan, but I can see myself wearing this with a tank and jeans fluttering open in the wind or for a formal occasion with a pair of strappy heels. Either way, this dress is a #BorrowAndBuy situation. Gwynnie Bee, you're never getting this one back!
