SimplyBe Fall '17: Velvet Puffer Coat

Growing up, puffer coats were all of the rage (thank North Face/Avirex/Sean John/Phat Farm, etc), so I'm more than excited that they've come back into style. But a velvet puffer coat is next level. Next. Level. All of my winter childhood fashion fantasies are now coming true, and I am so alive. I live, I live! I've seen them all over the place in both plus and smaller sizes, but yhis one from SimplyBe is so cool, in my opinion, because of the deep berry color and the black ribbed wrists. This coat is made to actually withstand some cold, which I appreciate.

West 4th Street Basketball Courts is one of my favorite spots in New York. The energy there is pure insanity - even as we stopped to take photos there (on a Sunday morning mind you!), people were coming in and out. It was a Sunday and folks were there playing pickup games, teens were practicing for mid-week trials, and a small group even assembled in the corner for a rap battle. Little gems like those stuffed in tiny pockets of NYC gives me a glimmer of hope that gentrification hasn't completely swallowed us whole.
