Spring Beauty Edit: Pinks & Purples

Spring is finally here, and so is the resurgence of color in both my wardrobe and makeup drawers. I'm usually a gold/neutral tone lady, so it's fun to experiment with color for a new season. When I received the Electric Pastels palette from the NYX Mochi collection, I stared at it in pure confusion. There was no way I was going to make this work for me. But sometimes you just really need to get over yourself and try something new. Especially with Ultra Violet being the Pantone Color of the Year!

I think it's a common misconception that brown women can't wear color, especially on our lids. Most of the women in my life stick to a monotone eyeshadow - if anything at all - and a bright lip in the warmer months. I think it's time we get adventurous.
