Isabel Toledo for Lane Bryant Runway Show

When it comes to fashion, plus size fashion in particular, I am not a woman that is easily impressed. So imagine how stunned I was when I was literally at a loss for words at the Isabel Toledo for Lane Bryant runway show last night.
Since entering the plus size fashion industry, I have never witnessed anything like this. The show brought tears to my eyes as I watched beautiful plus supermodel after plus supermodel sashay down the runway in high fashion. Powerfully-graphic prints, beautifully embroidered eyelets, and perfectly draped sheers and chiffons were brought to life beyond my wildest dreams.
I am speaking in what may seem like hyperbole, but I swear to you, I am just so overwhelmed by this experience.
It is beyond obvious that both Isabel Toledo and Lane Bryant made every effort to pay attention to every painstaking detail. Very normal tops transform into sexy blouses in the back. Most skirts and dresses hit knee length or below. Necklines of almost every garment show just enough decollatage to be alluring yet demure. I was so emotional because this collection showed that someone was listening to us. A high-fashion, straight size designer saw it worthwhile to give us what we've wanted for so long - high fashion without compromise. Plus size fashionistas don't want to sacrifice quality. We don't want to squeeze into things. We don't want to be confined to only high fashion shoes and accessories. It was clear that Isabel Toledo pored over this. This was not about fat or skinny. This was just about fashion.
