STYLE INSPIRATION: Andrew Gn Fall 2014

Being a New Yorker, I'm a bit of a clichè. In the fall, I like to wear leather jackets, pants, and boots. Being a school administrator, Fall is one of my busiest seasons, so throwing something on and running out is my go-to. So naturally, I need some staple pieces that make a statement. Luckily for me, I found Andrew Gn Fall 2014's collection on WWD.
BOLD PRINTS
I love how bright and textured these geometric patterns are. The idea of doing a figure-flattering top with a bold printed knee-length skirt is flawless. (Not to mention, orange is one of my favorite colors)
STATEMENT COATS
Nothing pumps up a cold weather 'fit like a statement coat. Regardless of what you're wearing, you will be seen in your coat for a good portion of the day, so wear it well. I love how all of these are belted at the waist and calf-length so all you see are coat, luxe leather boots, and a slither of skin. Leather, grommets, and lace are a classic touch.
APPLIQUÉS
In most people's minds, appliqués come off cheap if not done correctly. Gn does an impeccable job of keeping it luxe by only putting it on the skirt, or making a structured statement if using on the entire garment. This is a great idea to upgrade a pencil skirt you may have scored on sale during the spring months.
WAIST LENGTH JACKET WITH MAXI SKIRT
I've only successfully pulled off the waist-length-jacket-with-maxi-skirt look a few times, but I dare to try it again this Fall. I love the hard on soft concept, pairing an airy chiffon skirt with sharp lines, leather, and metal embellishments.

Shopping Tip: It may seem too early to look at Fall inspiration, but it's best to shop for Fall now! Most items from this year's cold months are on sale to clear out for Spring and Summer inventory.
