How to Travel in Style: My Travel Hacks!
The more I've traveled, the more I've figured out my personal travel hacks and I've actually developed a pretty good routine. I wanted to share with you all because I'm itching to go on a trip! I love Philly, maybe I'll take a quick train ride there...
1. Always wear a kimono or poncho: They double as both style statements and blankets on the plane. Most, if not all, airlines charge at least $5 for blankets now.
2. Pack clothes within the same color family: Packing neutrals like blacks, whites, and grays allows for mixing and matching with ease and saves a significant amount of space; space that can get filled with pieces from a vacation shopping trip.
3. Fold your clothes military style: The "military roll" is one of the best travel hacks, without a doubt. Regardless of what you pack, rolling them military style will give you a ton of space for shoes and other accessories. This is a surefire way to avoid paying extra fees for checked luggage. It also eases the anxiety of losing luggage.
4. Pack a pair of black shoes in every style: Black shoes are a winner, regardless of the outfit. Pack a pair of black pumps, black sandals or flats, and black sneakers.
5. Never, ever wear shoes with laces, or a belt: In most airports, travelers are mandated to go through extensive security measures, including scanning all shoes and metal parts. Don't hold a line up tinkering with laces or belt loop holes.
Considering I don't have much vacation days from now until Christmas, I could just hop on an Acela Express and make my way down the eastern seaboard. Can you believe I've never made a legit trip to DC?!
What are some of your travel hacks?
