Hey Gorgeous! Holiday Looks

I don't think I've ever told the story on my blog, but when I was shopping for my wedding dress I had a total meltdown. I was in Macy's looking for plus-size formal fashion and was on the pretty, well-lit floor for smaller sizes. When I made my way to floor 7, I was devastated by how dark, quiet, and forgotten the floor was. It was then that I really realized how poor the in-store plus-size shopping experience is. I've been so spoiled by my experiences at Lane Bryant and Fashion to Figure, to name a couple, that I was blind to how neglected we are as a community (STILL, in 2015, this is happening).

So when I had the opportunity to visit the Hey Gorgeous! showroom, I couldn't refuse it. It is one of the most personal, attentive one-on-one experiences I have had in a long time. I got to peruse every rack in the showroom and try on what I needed until I found exactly what I wanted. With the holiday season among us (how is it the holidays again?!), I knew I'd need pieces for various holiday events. I checked out some pieces from some of my favorite brands, including Carmakoma and Elvi. Can we say sequin and lace galore?

If you're in the tri-state area, make your way to the Hey Gorgeous! showroom in NYC to try out their pieces for yourself.  This is a personal experience you don't want to miss. Though I got a bit frustrated towards the middle of the day, not realizing I'd put on weight, the staff was very kind and accommodating. I left so happy with my purchases and ready to take on the season!

How are you going to spend your holidays and what are you wearing??
