Transitional Fashion: Shirts Under Strapless Dresses and Jumpsuits

I learn something new everyday with transitional fashion, even as I approach my 30's. I never, ever would have thought to layer a shirt under a strapless dress or jumpsuit, but I'm seeing it everywhere as I thumb through the September issues of magazines.

Jumpsuit: Eloquii | Striped Top: Forever 21

Transitional fashion is so tricky - you have to be cognizant of both textures and proportions. The height of a boot, the length of a pant, and the hem of a skirt can throw off an entire look, while too much texture is actually never enough.

I opted to pair this extremely comfortable jumpsuit with an even more comfortable ribbed mock-neck sweater. The crepe-goodness of the suit mixed with the chunkier texture of the top feels even more playful than the obvious juxtaposition of the stripes against polka dots!

Shirts under strapless dresses and jumpsuits is revolutionary to me. I usually transition strapless and spaghetti's out of my closet by the end of August because...why would I need it as it gets colder? This is genius, pure genius.
