Transitional Fashion: Kimonos and Crop Tops
Being a New Yorker, I will reluctantly admit that I love Fall. Jackets, boots, and hats are my thing but I will do whatever I can to clutch on to summer style. While simultaneously dredging through the last bits of hot weather and physically moving cold-weather items back into my closet, I've learned how to do transitional style pretty well. So I'm sharing some of my tips for the rest of the week.
Style Tip: Pair a crop top with a layer - I prefer kimonos, but this look can work for oversized blazers, capes, etc. as well. I also wear a high-waisted bottom to play with proportions. The flowier, the better in my eyes.
Kimono: H&M | Shoes: H&M | Culottes: Lane Bryant | Top: H&M | Bag: H&M
This H&M kimono is everything I've dreamed of. This "swiss cheese" leaf has followed me all summer, it all started with CurvyCon and has ended with a trip to Ikea. I can't get enough of it! The muted yet bright color palette with the graphic leaf print made this kimono a definite buy for me. I knew the colors would pick up well with a pair of rust culottes from Lane Bryant that I've been holding onto.
