Anthropologie Plus Size

Whenever a brand decides they want to foray into plus sizes, I am skeptical. Largely because most brands don't transition successfully. The plus size section becomes mostly an afterthought, and we're relegated to the outdated styles the straight sizes didn't want. Even when merchandising in-store (if the clothes even make it to the store), we're shuffled to the dark corners of the back of the shop. So when Anthropologie plus size section launched, I was honestly pretty against it. The clothes, on the site, didn't really seem to be much of anything style-wise and wasn't quite my aesthetic. But then I was asked to walk in their Mother's Day Fashion Show here in New York City...

With Anthropologie plus size clothing, seeing is really believing. After trying on this dress that I was walking in the show in, I ran throughout the rest of the store (in NYC the only store that carries plus is Rockerfeller Center) to find things to buy to take home. The fit on my show dress was impeccable - though the design wasn't my vibe at all, I couldn't get over how well the dress fit and how beautiful the material was. As I tried on piece after piece, I was sold. Now I understood why the prices are where they are. This stuff is worth it.

When Anthropologie plus size first launched, I'd skimmed the site to see if there was anything that I liked and this blue skirt caught my eye. It looked very structured and heavy online, so I didn't buy it because of the season. But in the store, I realized the skirt was both soft and stretchy! So I snapped it up immediately. Paired with a short sleeved sweater, this became the perfect Spring day look.

Now that I'm smitten with the brand, I'm constantly perusing the site for new arrivals. There's lots of pretty, pretty additions as we move into the warmer months!
